2006 erschien die Nintendo Wii und eigentlich nahmen viele diese zwanghafte Bewegungssteuerung nicht ernst. Aber mit über 100 (!!!) Millionen Einheiten wurde die Nintendo Wii ein phänomenaler Erfolg für Nintendo. Besonders Hits wie Wii Sports (war meistens bei der Konsole dabei) verkaufte sich fast 83 Millionen Mal oder Mario Kart Wii mit fast 38 Millionen verkauften Einheiten. Nintendo hatte es mit diesem Bewegungsgimmick geschafft einen echten Trend zu setzen. Erst 2014 endete der Lebenszyklus der Wii.
