Nachdem Sony die Konsolenwelt heftig aufgewirbelt hatte, nahm Sony nun den Handheldmarkt in Angriff und brachte 2004 in Japan und 2005 in USA und Europa die PlayStation Portable – kurz PSP – auf den Markt. Sony benutzt UMD Discs für die Games und Filme. Nun konnte man technisch sogar PS1/PS2 Spiele unterwegs zocken. Auch das Gameslibrary war großartig. Erst 2014 war das Ende gekommen und bis dahin hatte man über 82 Millionen Einheiten abgesetzt.
After shaking up the console world, Sony now tackled the handheld market and launched the PlayStation Portable – PSP for short – in Japan in 2004 and in the USA and Europe in 2005. Sony uses UMD discs for games and films. Now you could technically even play PS1/PS2 games on the go. The games library was also great. It wasn’t until 2014 that the end came and by then over 82 million units had been sold.
