Der Commodore 16 gehört wie auch der Plus/4 und Commodore 116 zur Commodore 264 Familie. 1984 erschien der C16 und sollte eine preisliche Alternative zum Commodore 64 darstellen. Aber schnell zog Commodore den Stecker und 1985 kam dann das direkte Aus für das System. Gerade mal knapp 1,3 Millionen C16 gingen über die Ladentheke und viele Games waren auch nicht gerade das Gelbe vom Ei. Angeblich soll das System aber besonders in Europa und Mexiko Verkaufserfolge gefeiert haben. Also ich habe das leider nicht mitbekommen.

Like the Plus/4 and Commodore 116, the Commodore 16 belongs to the Commodore 264 family. The C16 was released in 1984 and was intended to be an affordable alternative to the Commodore 64. But Commodore quickly pulled the plug and in 1985 the system was cancelled. Just under 1.3 million C16s were sold and many games were not exactly the cream of the crop. However, the system is said to have been particularly successful in Europe and Mexico. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice that.

Der Commodore Plus/4 erschien 1984 und ist auch Teil der Commodore 264 Familie. Aber im Gegensatz zum C16 und C116 war das die High-End-Variante der Familie. Aber das merkte man auch nicht unbedingt. Aufgrund der Architektur war der Plus/4 nicht kompatibel zum C64. Gefühlt bin ich aber der Meinung, dass die Games auf dem Plus/4 meist besser waren als auf dem C16. Aber ich lasse mich gerne korrigieren. 1985 war aber auch für den Plus/4 Schluss.
