1979 erschien der TI-99/4 und gerade mal 2 Jahre später der TI-99/4A (den ich mein Eigen nenne) von Texas Instruments. Diese Rechner sollten sich der Apple-, Atari- und Commodorekonkurrenz erwehren. Leider klappte das nicht ganz. Zwar wurden um die 20.000 Einheiten verkauft und Fans vom TI-99/4 bzw. TI-99/4A sind heute noch richtig begeistert. Aber leider kam schon 1981 direkt das Aus. Trotzdem ein System, das Zocker im Auge haben sollten.
In 1979, the TI-99/4 and just two years later the TI-99/4A (which I own) were released by Texas Instruments. These calculators were supposed to fend off the competition from Apple, Atari and Commodore. Unfortunately, this didn’t quite work out.
