Der Atari 5200 erblickte 1982 in den USA – und nur in den USA – das Licht der Welt. Die technische Architektur orientiert sich sehr an den Atari 8 Bit Computer. 1984 wurde das System aber schon wieder eingestellt, da sich gerade mal 1 Million Einheiten verkauft hatten. Dieses System ist sicherlich nur für echte Sammler interessiert. Die Games (meistens Updates der 2600 Spiele) sind recht gelungen, aber der Controller und das System allgemein lässt keinen wirklichen Spaß aufkommen.
The Atari 5200 saw the light of day in 1982 in the USA – and only in the USA. The technical architecture was very similar to the Atari 8-bit computer. However, the system was discontinued in 1984 as only 1 million units had been sold. This system is certainly only of interest to real collectors. The games (mostly updates of the 2600 games) are quite successful, but the controller and the system in general are no real fun.
