Von den Rechnern wurden insgesamt 4 Millionen verkauft. 1992 endete erst der Lebenszyklus der Atari 8 Bit Familie.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After Atari had secured the home console market with the 2600 and made a name for itself with good arcades, it now wanted to enter the home computer market. In 1979, the first steps were taken with the Atari 400, followed by the 600 and finally the 800 to secure a place in the 8-bit market. A total of 4 million of these computers were sold.
